Campbell, Calif. August 7, 2008—Brilliant Telecommunications, Inc. (Brilliant), designs, develops and distributes network timing solutions that meet the complex timing and synchronization requirements facing telecom service providers as they transition to IP backhaul, mobile WiMAX services and in-home basestations (“femtocells”).

This second close brings the total Series B round of capital raised to $11 million, lead by NovAtel Inc. (NovAtel), and including participation from Onset Ventures, Asset Management, Draper Associates, Draper Richards as well as other strategic investors.

NovAtel, a wholly-owned Canadian subsidiary of Hexagon AB, made an initial investment in October 2007 and has an exclusive cooperation agreement with Brilliant to jointly develop solutions for the global network timing market. “This investment demonstrates our confidence in Brilliant’s vision and prospects in next-generation network timing,” says Jon Ladd, NovAtel’s Chief Executive Officer. “The integration of Brilliant and NovAtel technology will provide a substantial competitive differentiation and a new level of price/performance for timing measurement and management.”
